When she pulled away from him, he looked down at her, frowning lightly. He was generally worried about her because he felt that none of them should have to contain their emotions or their grief in the way that she was forced too; but there really was no other choice. His hand reached out, brushing away a stray tear from her cheek as he gave her a supportive smile. "I don't mind at all, Katie," he assurred her, as he let his hand drop from her cheek to her side, taking hold of her hand. He lifted it, pressing his lips against her knuckles gently, before giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.
"I wish we would have found out sooner, so we could have been here for one another through it all," he then said, sighing.
