She was joking, of course; she was flattered, and didn't think of him as shallow. She poured lemonade into his glass, then hers, and then took her seat at the table again, smiling at him as she lifted her glass to her mouth. "Oh, yes. I've always lived on this land - I can't imagine living in the city. I've had a garden as long as I can remember, even when it was only a small one, and a bit clumsy, since I was a child at the time."
