"I'd like that," Patience said, smiling at him. She didn't know Zach well, not well enough to know his preferences, but she was aware that there was no real sexual attraction involved in this moment. That was more than fine. Patience found all people beautiful and worth being attracted to, some much more so than others, and if Zach had been interested in her, she probably would have responded. As it was, she was caught up in the dancing without really thinking about it, with no intention of making the dance into anything else.
The song ended, and she lowered the hand that had been on his shoulder to poke him playfully in the chest. "Maybe if we danced together on occasion, I wouldn't go years without seeing you." That wasn't completely his fault, nor was it hers, it was both of theirs. Nevertheless, she didn't want it to happen again.
