Marek tilted his head back - careful not to hit Melinda's - to look up at the ceiling. If they didn't find a place with skylights, they wouldn't be too hard to put in, would they? He didn't think so, but then again, he didn't want to have the ceiling ruined and the flat flooded whenever it rained. Or have the roof fall in when there was a heavy wind. "Just have to make sure there's no one above us," he said. "Probably wouldn't be too fun having upstairs neighbors, anyway."
He considered her proposal for the wards. "Probably. We're going to have to tie it in to shut down while we're getting busy, anyway, shouldn't be too difficult to add a clause for in danger, yeah?" Of course, that assumed that they had time to react emotionally to a threat. But they could probably tie it in to the emotions of another person wanting to hurt or kill them, as well.
He was about to suggest that they have a pain and danger clause in there that could be deactivated when they had people over to shag, but he still didn't entirely trust that Melinda's taste in blokes wouldn't result in a situation like that happening at a time when she had let her guard down. He wasn't going to protect her from trying to shag them, but he sure as hell was going to protect her if they legitimately tried to make her unhappy.
"Unless we do false ones like the Ministry. I don't know, though, the false windows never seem quite...right, the natural skylight's probably better." She wasn't sure how complicated those were, anyway. She only knew about Hogwarts and the Ministry having charms like that, but there weren't any other places where they were needful, so she didn't trust that as a measure of its difficulty.
"Exactly. The 'let me in' clause would override any locking out clauses. But we can't just say 'violence' because that's a little vague for our purposes and it's too easy for a mishap. But tying it to our emotions works much better, because then, if you're into getting punched in the face -- please don't tell me if you are -- the violence clause won't pick it up and accidentally let me in because your emotions will still be positive."
