Angela listened to him speak silently, which was strange for her. Things had changed in a deeper way than she either wished to or had been forced to acknowledge. After all, she hadn't been living it. She shook her head slightly and dug out some money to pay for their meal, counting the Galleons and Sickles awkwardly.
His life and hers had been very different since they left school.
She stood and offered Gilbert a small smile, "You don't need to explain, Gilbert. I'm sorry."
"I'm leaving enough to cover your drink, so don't worry about it. It was nice to see you." The words, though ordinary, didn't really suit the occasion, but she was grateful that they had fallen back onto things the way they used to be, at least for a while.
"Do well, Gilbert." She said by way of goodbye, before turning and making her way through the crowded pub to the exit, completely forgetting the important discussion Gilbert had wished to have.
