Marek wasn't a particular fan of Divination, either. He liked feeling as though he was the one in control of his life. Admittedly, Melinda had an enormous influence on it, but considering she was his twin (and therefore, barely even counted as a separate person), that didn't change his outlook.
"Oh!" he said when she explained, laughing too. He definitely hadn't caught that before. All he'd known was that she was talking about her past and her present and something needing to be settled with the sword of justice. That was the impression he was getting, anyway. He definitely hadn't made the connection between feline corpses and the cat killed by curiosity. "No, I don't think curiosity will kill me. I've got plenty of poisons, and a twin sister, for that."
He grinned and finished his water, then set aside his glass and offered her his arm. "Shall we? A full stomach makes curiosity much easier to bear." Not that he was really dying of curiosity, it was just fun to joke about. He didn't expect to be brought into her confidence this quickly, after all. Trust was something that had to be earned.
