Lavender completely lost track of the conversation when Seamus grew quiet and just looked at her. She lifted her head, holding his eyes with hers. She knew him so well it was easy to read some of what he was thinking, what he was remembering. Merlin, she wanted him. She wished her would just lay her back on the couch and kiss her, slip his hands under her shirt and touch her the way he used to. She wanted more than that, she wanted to feel his hands on her belly, the belly that held their baby. She wanted him to make her feel beautiful again, to explore her body and find all the ways it had changed and show her he loved every one of them. Oh, Merlin. She could just lean in and kiss him and she knew he’d kiss her back, but instead she bit her lip, unable to tear her gaze from his. Her eyes were sad and almost plaintive, but somehow also darkened just slightly with her desire for him. She should push away and she knew it, but she was caught in his stare.
