"I'd be able to manage with a boy, or at least I feel like I would, but I'm used to girls. I grew up with Clara, not my brothers, so I'm more used to being around them," he stated. It was true and it seemed to even remain so in his adult years, as he only hung out with her, Ginny and Katie in his free time. Dean was a rare occurrence.
He used to love the way she murmured his name, but now it just sent a feeling of longing and sadness through him. He gave her the smallest smile, acknowledging the past in a way, before he nodded, knowing they couldn't go down that road.
"Come in, I'll get the bags. Can't have you catching a cold out here," he said with a quick laugh, breaking from her to slide out of the door and begin gathering her things.
