That sobered Terrence for a moment. "I don't know if there was," he said honestly. Well, he could have vouched for her, maybe, but then they would be really aware of his link to her. "That wasn't what I had in mind to happen when I offered to find out about your mum, you know. I just noticed that when you got upset about it, you-- changed." He couldn't think of a better way of putting it. "I would've done it another way if I thought it was possible."
He laughed, again, because it felt good to laugh, and because he'd started to throw caution to the wind. He was tired of his Mark, tired of caring whether he was caught. He was even starting to think that going completely rogue would be a good idea, but he was going to be as useful to the Uprising as he could be before then. He thought of the explosion he and Weasley and Granger had caused at the Ministry, and smiled. "I mean that you're a drop in the bucket on my list of treasonous crimes," he said, not really trying to brag, but he wasn't feeling particularly humble about it either. If he took pride in it, though, it was to make himself feel better, not to impress her. He chuckled under his breath, and looked away for a moment. "I think I'm constitutionally incapable of taking orders from anyone without balancing it out by defying them somehow."
