Who: Remus and Sirius Where: Remus's cottage When: Wednesday evening What: Attempt no. 2 Status/Rating: Complete, medium
If someone had asked him what he was doing, Sirius couldn't have said what the hell it was he was doing. He was dressed in his best pair of jeans; ones that weren't nicked or torn in the slightest. He had on a collared shirt that was actually buttoned to the second top-most button. His collar was, for once, missing. And to top it all off, he had a thornless rose clutched in one hand behind his back.
No one else would have been given a second chance. No one else was worth the persistence. No one, save for Remus Lupin, could make Sirius risk the possibility of being rejected not once, but twice. And it was enough to make Sirius seriously examine his own sanity. Or what was left of it.
He had told himself countless of times it wasn't just the luggage. The feelings wouldn't fade once the luggage was satisfied. It wasn't some magical fairy-tale where he kissed the princess and the curse would be lifted and the whole kingdom would live happily ever-after. He vaguely knew what they were both risking. In pursuing Remus, he was risking what was from the onset a rocky relationship with Tonks. Teddy already hated him. Andromeda and Ted might take issue with it if they ever came back..
He just had to make Remus see that it wasn't just the luggage and he knew there might be repercussions. Sirius didn't know exactly know how to make Remus see all that, but this wasn't the first time he had improvised.
Sirius rapped his knuckles against the door and waited.
