It had been twenty minutes since Euan had arrived outside the grocery mart. He'd meant to go inside, maybe Cry a few things, play with some lobsters (lobsters!), and see how they were about five-finger discounts. Instead, he'd been standing outside the building, mournfully looking in through the dirty storefront window. With his forehead and nose pressed up against the glass, Euan looked like a caricature of himself — a very one-dimensional, possibly ran into a wall caricature.
He inhaled and sighed, his cheeks chubbing out as his mouth closed. Pout, pout. It was all in good fun — Euan wasn't upset over anything in particular. Honestly, he wasn't really pouting. He was making fishy-faces at himself in the window. He couldn't see his reflection, and he didn't look at all like a fish, but that wasn't important!
But he tired of that too, after a few more minutes of non-fishy-faces, and decided to try his hand at people-watching instead. That required a fun 180º spin (of course), and then Euan let himself slowly, slowly, slowly slide down the wall until his butt hit the ground. A wiggle to get comfortable and sprawl out some, and he was set.
"Chocolate chip," he murmured to himself. His head tilted to one side as he tried to get a read on his next choice. "Rocky road... No! Moose tracks." Yes, yes, yes! That was perfect. God, he liked moose tracks. Yum.
