"No, I don't want to sleep." She was scared to sleep. Bad dreams always came right after such traumatic experiences, and she didn't want to wake up to her own screaming. That didn't seem like too much fun, whereas, Fred keeping her away with silly jokes that she didn't really understand did.
For a moment, she had forgotten she had said anything about George, but then, she was glad that Fred hadn't connected the statement with her remembering anything about earlier and pressing her on it. She didn't want that, she didn't ever want to talk about the other day. 32 hours ago? That seemed ages.
"Hoo who?" She made a face, still keeping her eyes closed. "That.. I do not understand why that is funny." Still, she giggled at the silliness of the joke. Maybe if she had been nothing more then a toddler, it would have been hysterical. But no, now her mind was a whir of different thoughts and things that were threatening to drown her, the joke didn't make sense when mixed with all of that.
