Who: Penny and Adrian (!) What: Penny is celebrating her birthday when she's interrupted. Where: The Beach When: This Afternoon Rating/Status: TBD
It was one of those perfect moments - lying sunbathing with a book opened as she scanned the pages and a bottle of perfectly chilled water beside her. A trail of cookie crumbs led to Penny who had let her eyes flutter closed to simply bask in the moment.
There was ..nothing. No owls, no floo calls or the pressure of work. There was simply an acre of time in front of her that she could claim as her very own and as it was her birthday, Penny planned on doing precisely that.
Opening her eyes, she wriggled onto her stomach and pushed her glasses impatiently up her nose as she flipped to the next chapter, desperate to find out what happened to the main character in the trashy romance novels she claimed to never read. This one was a classic - a genuine Quills and Swoon and published several years before her own novels. Her heart began to pound as she read about Clarice and her inner turmoil over the feelings she'd begun to develop for the godfather of her tutee's.
It was all so perfect that she slid further into the novel and let herself be swept into remote England, oblivious to anything and everything around her.
