Remus woke with a start when someone knocked on the door, staring up at the straw roof. How had he gotten here? Sirius. Must've been. The whoever knocked on the door again, and this time he heard his name. James. It was James.
"James," he croaked. Had anyone's voice ever sounded so rough? He sat up to take a sip from the glass of water that Sirius must've left by his bed before leaving. Neither of his roommates were in bed, which gave him an idea of the time and of the reason why no one was answering the door. Getting to his feet didn't seem possible yet, much less getting all the way down the stairs. He cleared his throat and tried again. "Yes, come in!" he said as loudly as he could. He was sure the door was unlocked, and anyway, James should be able to manage a little Alohomora. Remus didn't think he could do it from up here. "COME ON IN, PRONGS."
If he had to get out of bed, James would have to carry him back up.
