Well as far as James wasn't concerned, he wasn't the least bit concerned with how Regulus and Remus got on. But either way, he was pleased to be on the more comfortable conversational territory. Even if his face was a bit boggled as Remus just breezed right on by his very generous invitation for a good barb.
"Totally.... blood loss," James reflexively agreed. Or whatever the hell else Remus wanted to call it. Even if Remus seemed to have plenty of blood at the moment, as much of it as was possible trying to occupy his face.
At least there seemed to be a bit of hope; Remus seemed like he'd play the tragically besotted, largely unrequited admirer quite well. Or at least, with far more dignity than James had managed. Lily, at least, had been pretty comfortable with actually having relationships. All he'd needed to do was get his broom in the air, so to say. Lily discovering that he was, in fact, completely awesome, had just been a natural inevitability.
James was actively resisting the urge to put a wager on it, because really, he knew Remus didn't want him trying it. Knew it was a bad idea. And not the fun sort of bad idea.
"I get the feeling it's probably best for everyone involved if I just try to behave myself as best I can," he said, a too-amused smile leaking through.
