Who Rita Skeeter and Open! What A bored Skeeter is a dangerous thing. When August 24 Where The grocery mart. Status/Rating Incomplete/CR for Completely Ridiculous.
All right, so maybe it was childish. But what else was there to do? And it wasn't like she was going racing in the shopping carts.
There just wasn't a lot of entertainment in this place, really. And window-washing? Hardly provided a life of excitement and glamor. So that was why Rita was standing thoughtfully in front of the lobster tank in the grocery, playing a game she'd played with her father as a child. He'd never been one for spending time with her - in fact, he'd always preferred her sisters when he was alive - but when he did decide to pay her a little attention, he'd take her down into the Muggle town (horrifying her mother, of course) and they'd explore. This was one of their favorite games, and it could work with really any animals, but it was the best with lobsters. They had a lot of personality.
The one with the red bands on his claws was Javier, she decided. The one with blue was clearly Delilah, and that made the one with green her twin brother Dalton. Yellow was the overbearing mother, Bettina. White was the slightly slow-witted father, Edmund. Delilah had fallen in love with the mysterious foreigner, Javier, but the overprotective Dalton didn't trust his sister's lover and was conspiring with Bettina to prove to Delilah that Javier was only after the family inheritance. Edmund was mostly there as backdrop, to be shushed by Bettina every time he tried to interject.
Rita couldn't help but smile in pleased satisfaction as Dalton gave Javier a shove. Clearly, she and the lobsters had some kind of connection. Delilah, don't be such a weak little girl, she thought sternly, pulling a mock-sober face and lightly tapping on the glass to get the lobster's attention. You can't let your brother push your man around like that. Stand up for yourself.
