Remus had never been so relieved in his life. The main reason he had always had trouble imagining himself sharing a life with someone was the inherent danger in doing so, for the partner involved. The knowledge that he had never even come close almost had his knees buckling out from underneath him and he clutched Tonks close.
When she pulled back, he simply pulled her back in to hold her even tighter, resting his head against her shoulder. He kissed it once, over the cloth of her shirt before resting his head there again. "Thank God," he whispered into her shoulder. "Oh, thank God, Dora, thank God."
