"NO!" she argued quickly, loudly. Only she was, wasn't she? She was upset that he was happy while she wasn't. "YES!" But that didn't make sense, Rose wanted Hugo to be happy. "I DON'T KNOW!" she settled on saying, but that wasn't an answer. Rolling her eyes at herself and carding her fingers through her own hair, pulling on the strands to extricate them to to release some of her tension.
"Why do you..." She wanted to break something. If she'd had magic to fix the whatever she broke, she would break something. She really would. This not being able to express herself coherently, the frustration at feeling something like this, something that she didn't want to believe was a part of herself, making her want to act out in a physical way. She thought she would feel better. "How come you get to know what you want when I don't? How come you get what you want when I don't? How come you're happy? What about- What about me?" The last question was soft compared to the rest of what she was saying. She knew how selfish she was and she hated hearing herself say it, but it was a very heartfelt feeling. How come Hugo could have Scorpius and she couldn't even decide if she wanted Lorcan to fancy her?
