Rose hadn't seen hide nor hair of her brother for days, a week, maybe more. As far as she was concerned, it was already too soon to be hearing from him. Smacking the book she had been reading closed, Rose got up from the bed to go greet her brother.
"What are you doing here, Hugo?" she asked from her room, her arms crossed over her chest, both defensively and offensively. "She didn't want to see him. She didn't want to be reminded of the last time she had spent time with him, on his date with Scorpius. How was it that Hugo was able to admit to himself that he was gay, that he liked men, that he went against social norms so very drastically and then get the man of his dreams as if it were no problem when Rose couldn't even get a boy she liked to look at her? For Merlin's sake, she couldn't even figure out if she wanted him to!
