It was almost strange how much easier this conversation was going with Lupin than it had with James. He had never even really spoken to Lupin before. He supposed it was because he and James had a strong penchant for acting a bit stupid with each other. They got irritated, acting rashly. James never thought things through and Regulus hated how he treated him like he was some stupid child. Still, it wasn't the easiest thing to explain; Regulus didn't think that Lupin would really press him for more details than he was willing to give.
"I was, uh, dying when I was brought here," Regulus said, feeling a bit awkward as he responded. He was looking pointedly at the ground instead of Lupin as he answered. He knew that he could also add that James had confirmed that he had been "missing" for months, but he didn't particularly feel like getting into the fact that he and James Potter had already met up. Besides, Lupin was older than James. He certainly already knew that something happened to him in late 1979.
