Well colour him surprised. It showed on his features, the sardonic expression he'd plastered to his features as he'd spoke of his own baggage was quickly replaced by a rounding of his lips and a widening of his eyes. Wasn't it against the law for Gryffindor families to be anything less than loving and supportive. Apparently that little theory was entirely wrong. In any other time Adrian would have blown it all off, mocked her words as simply one upsmanship or something equally as insulting but he didn't... instead he believed her and had a moment of ease. He wasn't the only one to feel the way he did.
"I believe the saying goes you can pick your nose and you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family." Or something along those lines, Adrian was rubbish at quotations. Unless it was a dirty limerick. He had those in spades. He rolled to his side and walked his finger tips across her stomach as he spoke. He'd always been a tactile person, even more so now apparently. "Parents might have been accepting. Raised an asshole of a son though. Then again monogamy is nothing but a set up for failure." And if that wasn't the telling tale of Adrian's life he didn't know what was.
His hand flattened, curling over her hip as if he could just return to what he was comfortable with and he'd stop having to think about what this island wouldn't let him forget. "Quidditch. I'll be banned sometime. Guess I'd do the one thing I never said I would just to keep that alive." It actually disgusted him. Though some small part of him wasn't surprised. His chin canted up to see her features better, a small sort of disgusted laughter fell from his lips before he spoke. "But Angelina, I beat myself up for all sorts of things I've never done. Apparently that's the problem. Can't fail if you never try." Of course that wasn't exactly what she'd meant but somehow it seemed to fit and this evening had everything falling from his lips.
Adrian let his hand slide off her stomach and press into the sand, his other following suit until he was pressed above her. "Do I have to have an answer to that question? Because I don't." Lowering his chest down until he just barely brushed her skin. He needed more- he always did. Adrian let his lips wander across her collar bone before he spoke again. "Something more than I have. Something that makes me-" His lips continued their path to her neck. "Makes me feel whole."
