Remus hadn't expected James to sneak up on him, but he kept a good grasp of his roller. He had already wasted enough paint by dropping his brush that he'd learned a very important, very simple lesson: do not drop the brush.
"James," he smiled, taking in James's appearance. At first, it had annoyed Remus a little bit that he was so old in comparison to everyone else. But James... if everyone had to be Remus's age, James wouldn't be here. He'd never made it this old. "You would want to try to compete with Sirius' and your son's house? It's the red and gold one," he added helpfully, nodding and smiling playfully.
