Lily was taken back by the fierceness of Percy's embrace and subsequent tears. It made her angry at his brother, even if Fred had a point. He didn't remember the end of his life. In a way, Lily was lucky. She remembered her whole, living life, even how it ended. She didn't have to wonder what she had done in some parallel universe; there were no surprises about her choices, even if she was really, extremely angry about some of the choices people made for her baby in his parents' absence. "I don't know," she admitted, trying hard to choose the right words. The last thing she wanted was to make Percy feel worse, but she didn't want to give him false hope either. How many times had her parents said Petunia would come around to accepting Lily? It had never happened and just disappointed Lily. "But you said, he did, love, yeah? That has to mean...well, it has to mean he cares about you and if that's true, well, then, it's very likely he'll come around in time." She rubbed his back in a gentle, circular motion. "It's okay to mess up, you know. We all do, even Fred I bet."
