Lily's heart went out to the young man in front of her. Oh, she knew he was older than she technically was, but he seemed so lost and hurt that she couldn't help feeling like she had to protect him and keep him close. "Shhh." She clamped her hand down over his trembling one like she had once done for Harry to keep little hands out of harm's way. "Shhh." She massaged the hand she held, trying hard to catch his gaze. "Listen to me, just because he doesn't remember doesn't mean it didn't happen. And let me tell you..." She inhaled, trying to summon her courage to speak of the past. "Family is everything, Percy Weasley, and we all make mistakes, but it's...it's making amends that matters. I'd do anything to have my sister sitting here feeling as guilty as you seem to. But she doesn't. So, really? Fred has to understand. Just give him a time, yeah?" She moved even closer to hug him tightly. "He's alive here. Maybe that's a blessing, yeah? Give you two another chance?" Even as she said it, she knew she had to start viewing their new, strange world like that. If she didn't, she'd go mad thinking it was some complicated, evil plot. She would never rest easy. She had to look on the bright side.
