Who: James Potter and Regulus Black Where: Remus's bungalow. Which James may have forgotten he shares with Regulus When: Monday What: Hopefully this time nobody gets punched. Rating/Status: Incomplete/nothing too scandalous?
On his own, James did rather well with potions, but he didn't host much creativity in the direction of creating new things when he wasn't exactly sure what it was he needed to accomplish what he wanted. Besides, it was probably more 'chemistry' than 'potions' when one didn't have any magic. Rummaging through the library had been enormously unhelpful in turning up any useful material on how to build underwater explosives. It wasn't so much that James had a pathological desire to blow up fish, but the idea had rather taken root and thus there was little to be done about it but to let it reach its natural conclusion.
Really, of all the clever people James knew who could likely be talked into helping him construct explosives, Remus pretty much topped the list. There was the bloke over the journals, but by the time James had gotten to the apothecary, he realised their timing probably ought to have been a little better sorted, and it really would have helped to know who he was looking for. But no matter, James was certain he could track his helpful stranger down again. Until then, however, Remus seemed like the most solid candidate.
He ought to have been thinking about where he was going, not who he was going to see. His mind was pleasantly tangled up with his most recent, and really quite impressive, false starts. And not on the fact that Remus lived with Regulus. Really, it was perfectly understandable, seeing as to how he was ignoring anything and everything that had to do with Regulus. James had never responded particularly well to being ignored himself, and since it happened to rarely, he'd never really needed to learn how to do anything actually productive. So he was solely considering launching mechanisms for waterproof gunpowder - or maybe they need to do something dual-phase, that combined in the water? - when he knocked of Remus's door.
