"What a delightfully vague description," Tom answered, still smiling. Excessive use of force could account for so many things. Yet, for the time being, Tom didn't pry any further. While he was interested, he saw no point in pushing the boundaries of this tentatively growing relationship simply to find out. That could all come in good time.
"I believe that proper introductions are in order though," Tom continued. What he really wanted to know was this young man's name. Was he actually someone Tom had heard of before - someone that he would become acquainted with. He knew that there was some measure of risk in giving his own name first, because there was always a possibility that the stranger had heard of him, but, for the time being that was certainly a risk that he was willing to take.
"Tom Riddle," Tom said, cordially holding out his hand.
