Ah, there they were. He had studied Ulrike. Which made him no normal teenager. It was heavy reading - and certainly not something that was merely kept lying around. The fact that the boy had managed to procure such work was impressive enough, much less understand it. That he was actually trying to configure it to be applicable to their current outstanding spoke volumes. It took only a quick glance to be able to tell that he wasn't simply fumbling about with the calculations either. This boy actually knew what he was doing.
"Oh, I wouldn't say I'm an Arthimancer," Tom answered with something of a smile. No, he considered himself something far more than that. "Although, I have studied Arthimancy." He paused for an instant. "And how is it that you managed to procure a volume of Ulrike's works? If you'll forgive me, I can hardly think that it's typical textbook material."
