Amelie realized she didn't know anything about Scorpius' life after school. She felt as if she had failed her godsisterly duties by not asking what she had missed, or even how he had been.
"You ended up in medicine, then?" she asked, the simplest question she could come up with as dozens of others filled her head. She had remembered talk of the profession as Scorpius neared the end of his education.
"You didn't have to be brought to this place in order to find your own footing, you know." Selfishly, if Amelie was determined to get home, she didn't want Scorpius being stuck behind even if he seemed more satisfied with the direction of his life.
