Kicking her feet out from under her, Helena laid back in the water, letting the current and the little waves ebb her back and forth. It was relaxing, but it didn't exactly do the job she needed it to do. Usually, Helena was able to lay out in the grass or in the lake at Hogwarts and look up at the sky and forget everything else that mattered at the moment. It was always useful in clearing her mind of excess baggage and letting her relax enough to go back to her life with a smile to share with the rest of the world.
Not today. She had far too many things racing about her already busy mind, and these things didn't care to give her any rest. She hadn't received a ton of sleep after the party the night before and she was exhausted, still not feeling quite up to her usual self. She wanted to place that on her fears, missing her family and insecurities about Fred and the things his family and friends had said. She didn't want to think about these things, but she knew that she had to. She also knew that she liked Fred, a lot, but for the moment, just as her friend. She still needed to figure herself out in this place before she could even pretend to take on someone else.
Frowning, Helena closed her eyes as another wave came and pushed her closer to the shore, finally running her aground into the sand. She remained where she was, letting the water continue to flow over her. Surprisingly, this was more relaxing then anything else she had tried.
