Brain freeze! What a horrible thing! Quickly though, Helena shoved her thumb to the roof of her mouth and pressed as hard as she could, willing the freeze and the cramping in her brain to go away. It took a second and then all that was left was a dull throb on the roof of her mouth from pressing too hard.
"Is that going to happen every time I try and drink?" Yes, she was trying to catch her breath. She hadn't taken a breath in while suffering through that brain freeze, afraid that she would hurt herself or something. Or possibly afraid that the freeze would travel through her brain, down her spine and into the rest of her body.
Actually, she did have the shivers now, though it might have been because of the dress. So much clothing less then what she was used to! "One day, this may be funny enough for me to laugh with you."
