Who: Roxanne and George Where: Bungalow 9 When: Thursday Evening What: After receiving his note, Roxanne visits her father. Rating: Low Status: Incomplete
When, after work, Roxanne came home to her father's note, she spend some time reading and rereading it, considering. Just a few days ago she had kicked her father out after learning of his infidelity - of how he had abandoned his family - and she had spent the following days trying to wade her way through anger and despair over the situation, neither of which had helped to lessen the blow. If anything, wallowing in all of those negative emotions were doing nothing but making it more difficult to bear, and that's the last thing Roxanne wanted or needed. With the note in her hand, she finally decided to be honest with herself, and admit that she missed her father and wanted to make amends.
If nothing else, he deserved to hear about her and the family life that existed somewhere else, away from the mess of the island. He had, after all, helped to raise her, to guide her into the woman she had become. And he was her role model - for living his life his way, for making his own path and doing what he loved. As much as it hurt Roxanne to consider, she had to admit that all of those reasons that led her to respect her father most likely came into play with his decision to pursue love instead of his family. It may not, in her mind, have been the best decision he could have made...but how would she have felt if her father came to resent them - his family - from holding him back?
Besides, she had a few questions she wanted to ask him. And of course, there was part of her that hoped that if she told him stories about their real life, he'd come around. She retained a measure of hope that maybe, in time, he'd realize he was making a mistake.
It was a bit late, but Roxanne hoped that it wouldn't be too late to go knocking on his door. Or, if it was, she hoped that she wouldn't wake his roommates. Even so, it was worth the risk, because she wasn't sure how her resolve would stand the following day. Folding up the note and shoving it into her pocket, she headed to his bungalow and - very softly - knocked on the door. If he didn't answer, then Roxanne would call it a night and try again some other time. If he did...well, she'd do her best to be as understanding and accepting as possible.
