Angelina sighed, she knew that Fred was going to be upset with her. "I didn't come to you to forget anything. I came to you because I was upset. I trust you, and enjoy being around you. I knew that I could only go to you or Oliver on this island, and I choose you. It wasn't about George, but it was about Pansy. You both... you're not a replacement for George. I don't care that you're identical, you're entirely different people. I've always known that, and you know that too." The hurt on his face was almost as bad as the hurt on Roxanne's had been.
Before starting, Angelina bit her lip. What was her best way to go about this? "I don't expect you to lie. In my definition, I didn't. We slept together, but I'm not about to tell my daughter who I have and haven't slept with, and I'd appreciate if you didn't either. She thought I was dating someone else, and unless I've missed something, we're not dating?" Tapping her fingers on the table, Angelina shook her head. "It's just not simple anymore, Fred. My daughter is here, and I need to put her first. If this island never happened, if you were a man in real life I was considering dating - I'd make sure my daughter liked you. Can you imagine your parents divorcing and then your mum dating someone you hated? She's been through enough, I'm not putting her through that as well."
Before continuing, Ange took a deep breath. "I'm not trying to ask you to do something you're not comfortable with. I'm just trying to protect her." Angelina's voice had quieted as she made her confession. She knew trying to protect her daughter wasn't going to do much good, but a mother had to try.
