Oh. Right. He wanted it not to have happened. Okay. Tonks forced a smile on her face and nodded. Her voice sounded far too happy. "Yes! Of course we can! Never happened. We were just caught up in a moment." Tucking some hair behind her ears, Tonks felt her hopes plummeting down to her feet. Silly of her. She thought he might feel something too, but of course he didn't. If her own husband didn't feel anything for her then why would a bloke she just met?
"I'm still going to go. Give us a bit of time to work on forgetting about it. But, uh, I'll see you soon. We'll go swimming or something." Tonks smiled at him again and all but bolted from the library before she could make things worse. He really didn't like her. That was okay. She had a bad habit of fancying people who weren't equally interested in her. This wasn't anything new.
