Blowing out a long breath, Tonks shook her head against his chest. "No. Not them. Other people during the war." Admitting what she'd done to someone who wasn't in the Order was much harder than she thought it would be. He was probably going to think so badly of her. "I never really wanted to, you know? But we, the Order, we needed to know things. We needed to know where people were hiding and someone had to get the information." Tonks shook her head again, the images of those people in her mind. She had made them hurt and scream and beg and she'd done it all without flinching.
"I think I'm here because I hurt those people. I hurt them because I wanted to know what they knew and now I'm being punished. The island is hurting me because I hurt them."
