Remus was grinding his teeth. No doubt James and Sirius would consider it a good thing - damaging the wolf's teeth before the moon or some equally ridiculous rot, but he didn't give them time to say it and smack each other on the back approvingly. "Chew toys, coconuts, a water bowl, a bell and a slab of meat. Perfect, I'll be all set," Remus said, biting out the words, his voice hard as he stared straight ahead at the sea. "I'm so glad you're taking all of this seriously."
For a moment, he thought that was all he had to say on the subject; just put them back in their place by pointing out that they were being unreasonable and silently reap the reward, but the moon was staring at him, mocking him as well. Because no matter how much he prayed and hoped that this time it wouldn't happen, that he could escape it this time, he knew better. The moon would always have him. "Not everything is about you, James."
