Candy was an important part of a boy's diet. There was nothing nutritional about sweets, and they rotted the mouth. For a man, candy was still important, as well as having a dentist on call. Which Albus did not, thank goodness for magic and the ability to fix such things if the need arose. It didn't often, which was a good thing. Though here on the island, maybe having a dentist was the best idea, considering there was no magical fixes to things. God forbid someone actually get really hurt. Healing would take ages!
Albus' thought process was straying far from the task at hand. Candy. He had to get enough to last him, but not too much that he would deplete the already meager earnings he had saved. At the store, the rest of his basket was already filled with more filling foods, things that could sustain him, and he desperately hoped that he had enough to cover his bill here. It was outrageous, the amount that the people here were given to live on, opposed to the amount that it took to continue living.
But at the moment, in the candy section, that was neither here nor there. His sweet tooth was taking over, as well as a particular weakness for RedVines. He couldn't help himself. Rushing forward, arm outstretched, reaching for his candy preferences, Albus hadn't been prepared to rush right into another gentleman. He hadn't even seen him there in the store, let alone in reaching distance. Albus faltered for a second before bringing himself back to the present. "Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to rush you." He added on a second later, "Candy addictions. Can't seem to help myself. Blinded to everything else around me."
