It had been a very long week for Marcus. Waking up on Monday to find out his body wasn't his anymore and he was a woman then had been strange, shocking and quite annoying; even more so when the days passed and he and everyone in the island were still stuck in those bodies and wasn't sure when he'd change back. At the end of the week he had somehow managed to get a little used to his new body, but when on Sunday at might he saw he got his body back, saying he was relieved was an understatement. And it was then when he decided to open one of the suitcases that kept eying him whenever he walked into his room. It was time to do it, even if he knew he'd regret it the moment he opened the suitcase.
Grabbing the first one he saw, he headed down to the beach. That seemed the only place where he could have some peace and quiet, where he could be alone with his thoughts. Once he got there, he knelt down in front of it and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly before opening the suitcase. Better do it fast, like when ripping a band-aid off. Immediately, he began to feel fear. It felt like someone had punched him on the chest, sucking the air out of his lungs for a moment as the fear spread through his body. It was a fear he was very familiar to him because it haunted him almost every day back in his normal life: the fear of Alicia seeing that darkness inside him and walking away from him with Tristan in her arms. He wanted to cry. He wanted to beg Alicia not to leave him. And he wanted to get rid of that darkness that he was sure one day would take over him and destroy everything he had worked so hard to get and loved so dearly: his family.
