"That's an illogical statement," Hugo pointed out. "You cannot be the same and yet different." Hugo knew Scorpius was confused by his feelings, but Scorpius was Scorpius. It didn't matter if he couldn't remember the life he had with Hugo. It didn't matter if Hugo had only just met him. Hugo knew that his feelings for Scorpius ran deep and there was nothing he could do to stop them.
He'd tried.
"You should've probably started with the wanting to get to know me part," he said in an annoyed tone. "I get that you don't want the world to know what's going on until you understand it better, but making me feel like I'm something you have to hide isn't exactly easy for me to take." In fact it was the worst feeling Hugo had ever felt. He was something Scorpius was ashamed of. Something dirty and wrong and meant to be locked away.
