"I don't know when it's going to change either though," Euan rebutted, looking thoroughly confused. "And I can't record the tides changing— it won't work. As soon as I figured out what time of day the tide shifted, it'd change again. The best I'd be able to do would be to warn that it was turning at that very second, which really isn't any help at all."
Euan was smarter than he looked. And acted.
He jammed his hands into his pockets, if only to keep himself from waving them around madly while he tried to make a point. Habits died hard.
"When's your birthday?" He asked. If he was going to announce birthdays, he had to start somewhere, didn't he?
