James's reticence to eat the eggplant lasagna didn't come as a surprise, and Remus smiled as he slowly walked over to the cupboard where the large tin bowl of homemade crisps was only half empty.
"Tricks?" Remus knew what it meant. He was sure it was a term used in prostitution - not that he frequented such institutions often, but... well, that wasn't important.
"It's decent," he answered. "Did some... snogging, at the hospital. But I think you knew that." There was a pause where a few things were left unsaid. It was better off that way, he thought. Much better.
"How are you?" Remus asked, as he pulled the makeshift cover off of the bowl and set it down on the counter beside James's backside. "I heard about Lily. I'm sorry. How are you holding up?"
