James chuckled a little, opting to wait in the main area of the house. Shack. Whatever. On top of the pie, James sort of missed his own home. He hadn't really thought it was terribly likely, given how long he'd been cooped up there. But without Lily-- well, he missed a lot of things. All at once. But he tried to bury that.
"Very nice," James praised. "Bipedal and everything. We ought to get you a medal or a badge of some sort."
It was easier to just... belittle what had happened. To make it trivial and insignificant and completely ordinary. Nothing to get worked up over. Not as if they'd come the least bit close to anything to worry about. Because really, things were only as big a deal as they were made. It was why he liked to make jokes ab out lycanthropy in general. Too much seriousness only made the matter that much worse.
And he had seen Remus look worse. He was pretty sure. Even if he hadn't, James was convincing himself that he had.
"You don't even seem to need my supervision in the least," he added just for good measure. "Hey-- you got anything to eat?"
