Dream liked very few humans, very few beings in general. He also tended to be rather oblivious to the world around him. Most likely, Dream would not have given Nina a second glance if it hadn't been for them sharing a son, but, because of that, he was able to come to know her better. Found he even enjoyed her company.

The sight of Nina entering the library interrupted Dream's train of thought. "Hello, Nina," he greeted as she took a seat and made herself a cup of tea. She immediately noticed Matthew and, thankfully, the bird was able to speak instead of squawk. Right now anyway.
"Trusted companion is more fitting I think," he replied, briefly looking over at Dream before his little head shifted back to focus on Nina, black eyes blinking. "But that's me. I'm Matthew. Good to know you-" And he was back to squawking again. Well, this was going to be interesting.
Dream sighed and ushered the raven back upon his shoulder. "Apologies, Nina. Wonderland seemed to think it would be amusing if he can only speak part of the time."
