RP: I thought you were the dog
Who: Lavender Brown, Vincent Crabbe
When: Saturday October 16th, 2000
Where: Stone Keep, Cotswolds
Rating: Low, probably
Warnings: None, I should imagine
Summary: Vincent stops by to see Greg, but runs into his best mate's fiancée instead.
It seemed one of the sheep had outwitted Greg's charms earlier this morning. There were a great many snide comments that Lavender could have made about that, but she was learning to hold her tongue. No doubt that was one of the things that they were supposed to be learning in their quest to become the ideal pureblood wives. For her, not making remarks - however teasing she could make them sound - was a way of keeping peace in her household.
Her household. Whatever Gertrude Goyle wanted to believe, she was being replaced as the woman of the house whether she liked it or not. As much as she pinned her hopes on the Order, Lavender had to live in this house for now, and she was going to make it her domain. Part of that was gradually learning just how to influence her fiancé. Food was often a useful tool, as were the right outfits. It was difficult to put much time into that, though, when she was tired after a day of work and hours spent on her feet smiling at people. There were only so many hours a day that even Lavender could be bright and chirpy.
Today was her day off and time for a little rest and relaxation. No heels, casual clothes and maybe a walk with Cuddles this afternoon. Perhaps Greg would want to join them; he might even get a treat for good behaviour. Speaking of Cuddles, Lavender looked up from the bridal magazine that she was reading when she heard someone enter the kitchen. Thinking it was the sheepdog, she smiled and started, "Hello..." When she realised that it wasn't, however, she finished with a slightly confused, "Cuddles." Lavender cleared her throat gently. "I mean, Crabbe. Hello. Sorry. I thought you were the dog."
