Who: Janus Yaxley, Augustus Pye When: Monday, October the 11th Where: St. Mungo’s West Wing. Rating: Medium or High (we’ll see) Warnings: Less than kind behaviour at a hospital. Summary: A Death Eater tracks a rebel to St. Mungo’s. Chaos ensues.
Yaxley had been tracking the Muggleborn rebel, known by the alias “Max Oakwood," for awhile now. The man's name was actually Jeff Oakley, but for some reason, he thought using an alias would actually help him avoid the law. After a long absence from his work, Janus returned to find that Oakley still hadn't been apprehended. He was satisfied - he wanted to be the one to bring the pest in. A bit of investigation the others had done during the week yielded a possible lead, but nothing was done with the information. Once Yaxley was back, he immediately went to investigate. 'Max' had been injured in what followed, after Yaxley tried drawing him out with a variety of destructive spells. Then the man disappeared, again. Though it was a stretch, Janus thought they could try the hospital.
Janus entered the West Wing of the hospital with a trainee Hit-Wizard he only addressed by the last-name of “Cherry.” The trainee, a few inches shorter than Yaxley and with straw-coloured hair, was noticeably flustered, having been dragged all around London during the day. Yaxley, on the other hand, seemed to not even be breaking a sweat, despite wearing the long robes of his position within the department, and a hat that he had worn in an attempt to “seem Muggle enough.” While he wouldn’t admit it, Cherry was one of the better trainees, considering he’d actually permit to the man to shadow him on occasions for his training. The waiting room was a fucking disgrace, by even Yaxley’s standards of neatness. Then again, he wouldn’t have offered any of the shit occupying the room medical service, if he had his way. St. Mungo’s was quite low on his list of favourite places, even if there were a complementary bed waiting for him in the East Wing, that he hadn’t used but a handful of times during his entire Hit-Wizard career.
Keenly looking at those in the waiting room, Yaxley ignored the matrons working. He certainly had better things to do than pass time with those women who were working in this slum. In one of the corners of the room, a man sat, head down and resting on his chest. His hair was dark enough to pass for Max’s, but disguises were another possibility with the man. Janus stepped forward and tipped the man’s face upward, grabbing him by the chin. Looking at the man’s face, he saw he wasn’t the one he was looking for. He didn’t apologise for the intrusion, and continued onward, to the next corner of the room. Cherry did likewise (and less intrusively), though much slower. While he tried peering down to get a good look at a man laying on a bench who was complaining of walking into a Doxy nest, Yaxley’s upfront method at getting attention went much quicker.
Letting go of another dirty patient’s chin, he looked back to Cherry and motioned him to come over. The man looked up to Yaxley, waiting for the next course of action. “This side,” he responded coldly, and then went back to the investigation. Janus stopped in front of one man, who was wearing a brown scarf, and looked down. It could have been the mudblood they were searching for, if the man knew how to transfigure his features. Janus thought it unlikely, but didn’t completely disregard it.
“Do you know anyone by the name of Max?” he inquired, leaning down closer. By then, some of the waiting room’s patrons had realised what was going on. One man sitting next to the one questioned edged a bit away. Another got up quickly and sat on the other side of the room, squeezing in between two old witches. The man was silent, and looked up at Janus fearfully. When there was a long enough pause, Yaxley seized the man by the neck and shook him violently. “DO YOU KNOW HIM!?” The would-be patient’s eyes were wide, and he merely stared dumbly up to Yaxley. By now, Janus could sense the idiot wasn't the one they were looking for, and just typical, stupid Mudblood trash. He stepped back and raised a hand, motioning for Cherry to go through the nearby door that led to the West Wing. The younger man panicked, noticing that the matrons were heading his way.
Janus turned around and saw that the two witches had begun asking his assistant to leave. He grinded his teeth in frustration and stormed over to the group. "Go back to work! We have nothing to prove to you." One of the matrons wouldn't budge and paid for it; Yaxley pulled her away from the doorway, and then pushed her roughly toward the patients, where she unceremoniously fell on top of a group of wizards separated from the others, due to Scrofungulus. "Go help the Mudbloods, why don't you?" Yaxley sneered, before walking into the West Wing.
After the two men had left the waiting room, quite a few of the patients breathed a sigh of relief.

Within the West Wing, Yaxley noticed that it was warmer, probably from the sheer amount of bodies within. Whatever he had thought of the waiting room had been overshadowed by West Wing, and he just looked to Cherry briefly and shook his head. "Remain in this area. If anyone calls the authorities, show them your badge and send them on their way." Continuing on, he began searching down a line of beds to no avail.
Yaxley retraced his steps and then started down another "hall," though he thought they could have also been called disasters, in the case of this wing. His eyes were constantly moving, as he inspected the patients and his surroundings. When a man at the end of the line of beds tried to quietly escape without causing a disturbance to those around him, Janus knew the day was looking up for him. He darted down the hall, pushing a patient and healer blocking his way roughly to the side. Yaxley was quick, even with the heavy robes, but the man in the bed did have a head start. A few patients screamed, when Janus finally tackled the man by a healing supply station. Glass shattered and instruments clattered to the floor. Even after Yaxley managed to restrain "Max," the man wasn't going to go without a fight, and continued to try pulling away. Eventually, the two hit the supply station hard enough to cause it to fall to the floor.
