THREE TO KEEP
With nothing but rumors and speculation flying alongside silenced players, the first official words are finally breaking the month-long drought from the Department of Magical Games & Sports, and those words are United Tornado Magpies.
Contracts were signed late Thursday night within the offices of the Ministry, a representative announced just before printing hours for the Prophet. The Montrose Magpies, Tutshill Tornados and Puddlemere United are the first three teams to officially sign on for the 2010-2011 season. "We are hopeful a good remainder of the clubs will manage to follow suit very soon," the representative said. It seems new Head Geoffrey Goyle knows how to get down to business.
The proposed starter date for the late season (which usually begins the first Friday of October) will be on Monday, 1 November with a match between Montrose and Puddlemere. Managers and players for each team were unavailable for comment by press time.
[The article continues on page 2 to explain about the history of each of the clubs, as well as a few star players. It ends with mentions about the speculations around the Harpies and Wasps being the first to cut, though nothing official.]
