I have decided to be completely forward with my purpose and intent with this letter. My betrothed and I have been discussing and planning our wedding, but feel it would be much easier for us to do this if we were to be able to set a date for ourselves. We are interested in whether or not we have the ability to choose a location that is not the Ministry Ballroom. As you understand, we will only get one wedding, and we would like, if possible, to make it as personal and meaningful as we can under the parameters of the programme.
I am aware that by allowing us to set a date, there might be a lot of couples that will try to follow suit in order to delay their weddings as much as possible. Delaying our wedding is not really the intent, however, as we are only interested in making the wedding feel more like our day. We would like to be able to pick out the invitations, for example, that we send out to those invited, and plan the wedding entirely ourselves.
We appreciate all the hard work that you have put into the programme, and mean no disrespect by these questions. I must admit, I've been dreaming about having a big wedding ever since I was a little girl, and I'd very much like the chance to have it perfect.
If setting a date isn't entirely possible, perhaps you can send us a selection of dates we can choose from? I can keep you informed and up-to-date about any and all wedding information as we plan it, if it helps.
