Verity's heart sank and her stomach twisted. She knew that he wouldn't be able to- she shouldn't have asked in the first place. In fact, in a rare moment for her, she was embarrassed that she'd even attempted. Ollivander had been nothing but kind to her, a rarity in the new world, and she'd attempted to take advantage of that.
When he got up she watched with attention, slowly beginning to smile, trying not to grin, as the book was laid beside her. She placed her hand on the cover as if she could discern it's contents by touch and nodded. "Right, of course," she agreed with a nod. If he 'wasn't supposed to know' then she wasn't going to open the book in front of him.
"You've been awfully kind, Mr. Ollivander, particularly when you didn't need to- but could I ask one more favor?" she bit her lip, this time meeting his eyes with her request. "Could I use your owl?" Her thoughts hadn't left Lee at all. She'd promised she'd get word to his sisters and she was determined to do it. Borrowing Ollivander's owl was the easiest way she knew.
