"No, don't stop," she encouraged when he fell quiet on the topic on wandless magic. The thought alone had been possessing her for nearly a month now. If she could only learn wandless magic she could have some fighting chance. Perhaps there was something he would say that would help her. Of course, asking right out for help or lessons would likely qualify as treason and trouble making and she didn't want to put him in an awkward position.
Verity gave a small laugh. "If you'd like I can show you a few things. I've had to cook for myself since I was seven, at least, I've picked up a few trick along the way." Mentally she added that she'd be even happier to trade him cooking lessons for magic lessons.
Her heart sank at his answer and she gave a small nod. "I figured as much, thank you," she said, the life that was once in her voice gone now. Picking up a cup of the steaming tea she took a sip. It was delicious and she realized she'd been missing simple things like this.
