He wished her laugh was more real, that it went deeper and spoke of a happier time, but it was the best he'd get--that any of them would be getting for a very long time. When he got out all he could think of was the revenge he was taking. No more hiding on the sidelines, nothing was going to be accomplished by sticking back. He wasn't much, but he could do something, and that something could be what lead down a path to winning this god-awful war.
Smiling he shook his head, a bit confused. "Nope, can't say I did. Why?" She had watched a lot more movies then he ever had, she enjoyed them more; not that he didn't enjoy them, he just had been forced to watch hundreds of them with his sisters and none of them had ever been interesting to a teenage boy.
At her comment about getting in he gave a sort of bitter chuckle and ran a hand along her hair. "I wouldn't want you to if you could. You should be on the other side of the bars for once." If he could help it she'd never be on his side again; and after the war he'd give her open air. They could live in fucking tents for all he cared.
For half a moment he pictured the thought. The freedom they could have if they got out, it made him long for it. He was brought sharply back to relality at Verity word's however. His hand moved to her neck lightly and he just stared. For a moment he figured it was a 'like a friend' or something, but he couldn't tell, not by her expression but he thought.... His throat got tight and Lee closed his eyes leaning his forehead against the bars, trying to control his emotions. Merlin, he returned those feelings; he probably had since he was seventeen and saw her with that Bulgarian... He just- now. Of all times...
Opening his eyes he looked at her, wet rimmed though he wasn't (couldn't) cry, his hands moved to her hair, running along it looking at her desperately. "Ver- I can't, don't tell me that," he gave a wet sort of smile, his eyes sad but shining back at her. "I'll do something reckless and stupid." As if he hadn't already... he was locked in someone's basement prison over her wasn't he?
