Moving to almost wrap her arms around herself she nodded, slowly, glad for the moment that the girl was staying. Even if she couldn't keep her there for much longer, it gave her a few more seconds to acclimate herself to her surroundings. Associate it with something else besides death. Rubbing one arm, she glanced surreptitiously back at Tavish and then back at the girl and nodded again. "A lot of players have been cut though, what with all the new- laws and such." It was the easiest way for her to say that blood status suddenly mattered in your Quidditch playing ability without being so direct. It seemed ridiculous to her, but she had learned to just keep her mouth shut.
The smile was nice and Silas reached out to shake her hand, smiling herself, soft as it was; "Silas Dobbs. It's- nice to- have someone to talk too." She wet her lips and glanced back at Tavish, speaking quietly even though she wasn't looking at Katie the words were obviously directed at her. "I don't know....how to be the right, do the right thing with him. I'm-
"He doesn't see me as more then a kid, you know?" Her shoulders raised in a shrug, re-wrapping her arms around themselves. "It- I'm not even sure I should be here. Like, I'm supposed to be disgruntled and hate him for being- the 'big bad Death Eater' and... having to- being forced to marry him. And I do- Well, I hate that I don't get a choice.... but, he's been...nice, I guess. And I don't hate him, but- I don't even- know him. It feels wrong to sit at his bedside grieving someone that is barely more then a stranger..." She swallowed and sniffed suddenly, moving a hand to wipe at her cheek again.
"I'm sorry." Silas gave a weak smile and shook her head, looking back at Katie. "You didn't need to hear all of that, I'm just feeling a little- overwhelmed I guess."
